Model-Method Project
At the intersection between the mission and vision of the Global Alliance for Values-based Education (GAVE) is the creation and sustenance of a vibrant movement and vital forum through which values education in general, and values-based education in particular, may be credibly developed, implemented, evaluated, and advanced, both locally and globally.
Although there has been stellar work in values education / values-based education for many years, the broader field has never come together globally to try and articulate what an integrated model and method might actually be. As a result, the field and its researchers, educators, administrators, students, and practitioners – as well as policy makers, schools of education, funders, and the public at large – have not been able to point to a consensus-based model and method to help advance and give credibility to what we do. That’s the larger purpose of the GAVE Model-Method Project and one of the most important reasons for creating GAVE in the first place. Mainly, if we don’t do this integrative and consensus-based work, who will?
As such, we are asking GAVE members and other stakeholders around the world to help. Specifically, if you are interested in values in general and values-based education in particular (e.g., as scholars, educators, students, policy makers), we are asking you to offer your perspectives on a number of relevant issues while also pointing us toward resources and materials that can help GAVE pursue the Model-Method Project.
By doing so, you will not only have an opportunity to showcase your work and that of your collaborators (e.g., research projects, curricular materials, assessment activities, exemplary programs, relevant initiatives, key policies), but will help shape the nature and form of the GAVE Model-Method Project. For example, we may feature your work on the GAVE website and/or in future publications that are presently underway. In the following survey, we also ask a few questions that will help us identify strategic priorities for our organization. Finally, this survey also provides an opportunity for you to indicate any potential interests in getting involved in the work of GAVE.
To streamline this process, we have created a relatively brief survey that takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete.
To answer this form, you will need to have access to a google account. We ask that you provide your responses before May 15, 2027.
On behalf of GAVE, and all who seek to advance values-based education, thank you for your time and input!
